Osceola Idol Application

Among the highlights of the 80th Annual Osceola County Fair, which takes place from February 9th to February 18th, 2024, is the much-anticipated 2023 Osceola Idol Competition, where local talents will take center stage to showcase their singing prowess. With a rich history of celebrating talent, the Osceola County Fair is once again set to captivate audiences and discover the next Osceola Idol. As a talent showcase, 'Osceola Idol' has given aspiring artists a platform to shine and share their amazing vocal skills. Judges will be looking for exceptional vocal ability, stage presence, and the ability to connect with the audience.

Participants ONLY will receive a free pass for entry into the fair. Family and friends must purchase tickets at arrival. Performers with large equipment must notify contact person prior to performance day.

RULES:
1. Contestant(s) must be a resident of Osceola County.

2. Contestants must pre-register and attend the audition - no exceptions. Entry forms must be into the Fair office on or before the deadline date. No entries on day of auditions. If necessary audition date(s) and time(s) will be announced as soon as possible after the entry deadline.

3. Amateur acts only. No contestant will be considered if they have ever received a fee for performing.

4. Contestants will compete against all registered participants. There are no divisions or categories.

5. Music: Music should be on a CD, labeled with name and track number. NO like talent is allowed on the recording, i.e. background vocals for a vocal performance, tapping for a tap dance, etc. CD will be kept after the audition, and will be returned to the contestant after the Talent Show Judging. The Fair accepts no responsibility for items left after the Talent Show Judging. Please contact if music will be on other than CD.

6. Sound Equipment: Sound equipment, microphones, CD player will be provided and operated by Fair personnel.

7. Musical Instruments: The Fair will not provide musical instruments for auditions or show.

8. Props: Props must be provided by the contestant. Props should be kept to a minimum, and will be the responsibility of the contestant for access to and from the stage and show. Set up time is limited to 4 minutes.

9. Stage: The stage for the final performance measures 32’ wide x 24’ deep. It is 3’ in height and all acts must be able to perform safely in the available space.

10. Time Limit: Acts may not exceed 31/2 minutes. Points will be deducted for overtime. Acts will be timed at the audition and judging competition. Set up time is limited to 4 minutes.

11. The same act must be performed for audition and judging competition.

12. Judging will be based on: a. Talent (ability, difficulty, skill). b. Presentation (poise, confidence, audience appeal). c. Costume-Staging (age appropriate, clever, creative) Score sheets will not be available for review.

13. The Fair reserves the right to disallow any act that does not fit into the family atmosphere of the county fair.

14. Conduct unbecoming to a contestant before, during or after the contest, and the Osceola County Fair has the right to disqualify a contestant and may prevent a contestant from participating in future Talent Shows.

15. The Superintendent shall have the final say on any deviation or conflict regarding rules.

16. The decision of judges is final.

17. The Kissimmee Valley Livestock Show / Osceola County Fair are not responsible for any accidents or injuries that occur as a result of participation.

18. Premium Awards: Talent show winner awards will be handed out at the completion of the Talent Show.

*Mandatory disclosure of Social Security Number or Federal ID Number - Federal Tax regulation requires the KVLS – Kissimmee Valley Livestock Show & Fair to obtain Social Security Numbers (SSN) or Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) from every person to whom compensation is paid. SSN or TIN are maintained and used by KVLS for the processing of payments due, and are reported to the Federal and State agencies on forms required by law. KVLS will not disclose any SSN or TIN without your consent to anyone outside the KVLS except as mandated by law. Failure to provide a SSN or TIN will result in denial of compensation.
